Personality: Hyungshik is a rather humble and modest person, blessed with a god-given talent. He is respectful to everyone and was known by the people around him as witty, always sharing his humor to brighten up the solemn town he was raised in. He cared dearly for his father and became more aware of how quickly people you cherish could be taken from you. He perfected the skill of tuning people out of his life after the passing of his father, ultimately becoming an introvert. That was until he met his first love and allowed his walls to crumble once again.

Background: “This! I want, Dad! Can I have?” Hyungshik was 3 when he first saw a guitar. That same Christmas his father used half of his paycheck to buy his son what he desired. He had a natural born talent and it was evident at an early age.  Hyungshik knew music was what he wanted to do for his entire life. It was the only source of freedom from the harsh poverty he grew up in.

 Hyungshik was never fond of his mother and was aware of the affairs she was having with other men. She never appreciated his talent as much as his father and thus this was a main contributor to the arguments his parents had. His mother felt the little income they had was better used elsewhere. When his mother abandoned them, Hyungshik was merely 10 years old. He was not saddened by this because she had never truly cared for him as a mother should. By the time he was 13, he got his first job delivering packages for the local post office and saved his money to buy a keyboard he saw while walking home from work one afternoon. He and his father did well on their own for the next three years and Hyungshik vowed to remove them from the lifestyle they were caught up in. Every last dime he earned went towards the fund he planned on using to buy them a new place, in a more middle-class town. He was never able to fulfill that wish because his father died a few years later, a month after Hyungshik turned 16. He packed his belongings shortly after and left behind the home that contained his bittersweet memories. Using some of his money, he traveled to a town about 120 miles away where he played at local bars and stayed at the nearby motels before moving in with a friend he met while he was there. It was in this town that he met his first love, Mi Soo. She was 18. She and her family were rather rich and lived in a better portion of the neighborhood. The two were together for three years before breaking up. Abandoned and alone once again, Hyungshik moved to a town known for its royalty where he strived to make a name for himself using his musical instruments and graceful voice.

Anything people don’t know? Hyungshik has a two-year-old son with Mi Soo. A year after being together she became pregnant and all was well for the first year after their son, Hyung Soo, was born. Mi Soo was  then encouraged by her parents to study abroad in America. She left Hyung Soo with her parents but they never allowed Hyungshik to see his son because they did not like him from the beginning. Hyungshik was devastated by this and tried on numerous occasions to see his son, but to no avail.
